Salsa, Merengue, Bachata & Chacha Class

Salsa & More

Learn the basics of Salsa, Cha Cha, bachata & Merengue.

This 4 week Latin dance workshop will teach you the fundamentals of Latin dance.

This class will create a more efficient dancer by utilizing classical technique, Latin and Modern dance to explain the principles of body weight, transferring balance and integration of arms and legs. Turning one’s weaknesses into strengths. In this workshop, we will continually focus on the coordination of upper and lower body and finding where the momentum for movement comes from. The purpose is to gain better posture, stronger core and to be smooth on the dance floor.

Salsa
A very energetic and fun dance, complete with spins, sharp movement, and crisp turns. Very popular in Latin clubs along with merengue. There are many Salsa styles, depending on where you’re dancing and who your partner is. A great dance to learn if you want to break into the Latin club scene all over the U.S.

Cha-Cha
Yet another Latin dance with a wide variety of music from which to choose. You can dance cha cha to a lot of popular music such as Robin Thick, Marvin Gaye, Santana, etc., as well as club mixes and even some country music.

Bachata
A moderately slow Latin dance with plenty of wraps, under arm turns and a truckload of flirtation

Merengue
Here’s a fast Latin dance that never slows down. Very easy to learn and I often refer to this dance as “the march with style.” It’s the most popular dance at most Latin clubs, along with Salsa.
