EDISON BALLROOM REVIEW: WHERE SWING DREAMS COME ALIVE

A Dancetalkinfo Review by Xavier Marzan

Last night at Edison Ballroom’s “Swing into the Summer” event was nothing short of spectacular – and I don’t use that word lightly. As someone who’s been dancing for over 20 years and has experienced venues across NYC, I can confidently say there are few ballrooms where you can truly dance like this.

The Atmosphere From the moment you step into Edison Ballroom, you’re transported. The vintage elegance, the lighting, the sheer energy of the space – it all comes together to create something magical. This isn’t just a venue; it’s a time machine that takes you straight into the golden age of ballroom dancing.

The Music & Band The live band was absolutely incredible! Timothy and the ensemble (I wish I caught everyone’s names!) delivered performance after performance that had the entire floor moving. The musicality, the energy, the way they read the room – pure perfection. You could feel the music in your bones, which is exactly what you want for an authentic swing experience.

The Dancing Here’s what sets Edison Ballroom apart: the dance floor and the freedom to truly dance. We moved seamlessly from swing to Latin to mambo, and the space accommodated every style beautifully. The floor quality, the acoustics, the layout – everything is designed for dancers, by people who understand dance.

Bottom Line If you’re looking for an authentic ballroom experience in NYC, Edison Ballroom isn’t just recommended – it’s essential. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just starting your journey, this venue will remind you why we fell in love with dance in the first place.
